VOLUNTEER WORK AT THE MISSION OLD BREWERY

This past June 29th, our students and articling students, along with two of our lawyers visited and volunteered at the Mission Old Brewery.

During this activity, they were able to serve over 300 meals to the homeless. It was truly an extraordinary way to give back to the community!

Although it was an enriching experience, the participants were also able to see the harsh reality of the homeless in Montreal. They are now more aware of the needs of these people.

The Old Brewery Mission works with Montreal’s homeless people, meeting their essential needs while finding practical and sustainable solutions designed to end homelessness as we know it. For over 125 years, the Mission has provided emergency services to all those who come knocking on their door. As well as meeting their immediate needs, the Mission continues to create and supervise long term solutions, whether with regards to mental health or initiatives concerning subsidized housing which help men and women reintegrate into society.
