A heartfelt award for Camp Massawippi, of which Valérie Giroux is a director and executive committee member!

December 1, 2017

Camp Massawippi, of which Valérie Giroux is a director and executive committee member, was awarded the “Prix Coup de Coeur” from the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ) during the ACQ’s 28th Excellence Gala on November 15th. This prize is awarded by the ACQ’s certification consultants, who visit camps certified by the association throughout the year.

Camp Massawippi, which specializes in hosting children and young adults who are living with motor, hearing or visual impairments, won the prize by distinguishing itself in terms of its overall structure and organization, the quality of its certification file, and the experience offered to its clientele. In addition, since its creation, the camp has offered a number of stimulating and fully customized activities, including water skiing and an inclusive urban dance program (the RAD Project).

Lynda Vigneault, the certification consultant who visited the camp this summer, said:

“To see these campers so happy, loved and accepted for who they are […] restores your faith in humanity.”

Congratulations to Valérie Giroux and all the other camp directors who are contributing to its stellar reputation!
