Appointment of Antonietta Melchiorre as a part-time member of the Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal

On May 2ndAntonietta Melchiorre was appointed as a part-time member of the Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal during a meeting of the Quebec cabinet. Her mandate will be for a five-year term.

The Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal specializes in the financial markets sector. It acts with regards to the various participants in this sector to ensure the protection of the public and effective supervision of Quebec’s financial markets. The Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal is an independent and impartial tribunal. It is a modern tribunal where all stages of the processing of files are computerized. Administrative judges of the Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal are recognized for their knowledge of the financial markets.

As an administrative judge, Antonietta Melchiorre will be responsible for presiding over hearings and ruling on disputes, rendering both protective and administrative sanctions. Due to the constant growth and evolution of financial markets, administrative judges are called upon to hear complex cases involving major issues.
